Background
My friend Richard De La Rosa asked if I would mind helping out with a project for a couple of friends of his. They were just starting up their sportsware company and needed to get their web site going. There was no budget to speak of, but a couple of tee-shirts and the chance to work with Richard again seemed like a fair exchange. Plus it gave me the opportunity to play with HTML5 and CSS3.
Challenge
I was presented with a solid design, with all details spec'ed out and graphics pre-cut (I love working with Richard). All that was left was to build out the site.
Solution
I was very careful with getting the new features of HTML5 right. And, thanks to the ability to embed the correct fonts, I was able to deliver a nearly pixel perfect functional rendition of the mock-up that behaved correctly across all the browsers the client wanted to support.
Postscript
Last I heard, Josh and Nate were thrilled with the site, and even beginning to learn a little HTML so they could maintain it themselves.
